Family Music for Babies (about 4 months - 14 months)
Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving, and singing. Music play activities are designed to increase your child’s curiosity about music, to develop listening skills and a sense of beat, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought. Enjoy superb recordings by fine children's choirs and outstanding musicians. Babies classes also receive parent book and a cloth instrument pouch with instruments. Parent/Baby participate together. Class size is 6-10. 35 minutes.
Family Music for Toddlers (about 14 months - 3 years)
Participate with your toddler in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening, and playing simple instruments – while developing a strong musical bond with your child. Through activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement, your child’s musical aptitude, listening abilities and purposeful movements are further developed. Four wonderful semesters each with a quality 60 minute CD of exceptional music - folk, classical & childrens - parent book & instruments to use at home. Parent/Child participate together. Class size is 6-10. 40 minutes.
Cycle of Seasons (3 - 4 years) (available upon request)
Celebrate your child’s love of nature and growing independence through activities which focus on the seasons of the year. Classes are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement, and storytelling. Family packets for the seasons of the year include 2 CDs in fall and 2 in the spring, note cards, and parent book in a cloth pouch. Parent participates for greeting & closing time. Class size is 6-8. 45 minutes. (If enough interest, a younger Cycles class with parent participation during the whole class time will be formed.)
Music Makers (ages 4 – 6 years) (available upon request)
Cultivate your child’s musical development through songs, tonal and rhythm patterns, poetry and stories, movement, listening games, and instrumental play. Rudimentary music skills such as pitch, beat, ensemble development, and music notation are developed using themes taken from the child's home environment and natural surroundings. Parent participates for closing time. Class size is 6-8. 45 minutes.
Music Makers at the Keyboard (ages 5 – 9 years)
